The leaders of the fourteen European and Latin American member institutions of the Erasmus+ i2latam project: Strengthening research and innovation in young universities for regional development in Latin America, co-financed by the European Union, will meet between November 15 and 18, 2022, in person in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche, Province of Río Negro, Argentina, with the National University of Río Negro (UNRN) as host institution.

Within the framework of the specific objectives of the project, progress has been made in: combining the research strengths of the participating universities with the economic and social strengths of their regions, in order to determine possible strategic areas of cooperation; implementing or energizing existing knowledge exchange spaces to bring together university teams with socioeconomic actors at the regional level for the identification of collaborative research and innovation initiatives; among others.

The Summit offers the opportunity to discuss the progress of each university with the leaders individually, answer specific questions and tailor the necessary support. In addition to presentations and workshops for each project work package, the agenda of activities includes visits to sites of interest, such as UNRN facilities, the Argentine high-tech company INVAP and tourist attractions.

In addition to representatives of the member institutions, officials of the Government of the Province of Río Negro and of the City of San Carlos de Bariloche, and authorities of the UNRN will participate in the event.
